Schoelkopf Gallery is pleased to present Spotlight: American People, 1932–1944, a focused exhibition of 20th century figurative paintings. The works on view are drawn from an esteemed private collection and are exceptional representations of the regionalist and social realist art movements in the United States. The exhibition will include works by John Steuart Curry, Philip Evergood, Jared French, Reginald Marsh, Guy Pène du Bois, Ben Shahn, and Helen Wessells.

Across styles and art movements, the works in this exhibition focus on the stories of the nation's people at a time when the Great Depression and the Works Progress Administration were shaping the social and cultural landscape of the United States.
