Everafter, the high-style children’s clothing boutique opened on Greenwich by Tribecans Haro Keledjian and Sari Sloane Keledjian seven years ago, has closed. That is it for the brand in general, not just our store; the company will instead focus on its women’s boutique, The Westside, which is still nextdoor on Greenwich.
CHOOSE CREATIVITY AWARDS ON JUNE 3
Tribecans Marina and Kevin Krim, who founded the Choose Creativity Awards and its underlying non-profit the Lulu and Leo Fund after two of their children were killed in 2012, will host their annual fundraiser and celebration on June 3 at Tribeca 360. The organization provides social-emotional learning programs to under-resourced schools in the city. The Choose Creativity Awards celebrate and honor innovators across the arts, sciences, technology and education. See more information here.
MARY ABBOTT AT SCHOELKOPF GALLERY
Schoelkopf Gallery will present Mary Abbott: To Draw Imagination through June 28 — the most comprehensive survey to date of the trailblazing abstract expressionist. Spanning six decades and featuring over 60 works, the exhibition traces Abbott’s evolution from early surrealist-influenced compositions to her powerful abstract expressionist canvases and nature-driven abstractions, bringing overdue attention to one of the few women deeply involved in the movement’s formation. Abbott studied under Rothko, Newman and Motherwell, and was part of the inner circle that shaped postwar American art — including Pollock, de Kooning and Joan Mitchell — yet her legacy has often been overlooked.
