Max Weber’s career spanned various styles and genres, showcasing a deep interest and awareness of contemporary developments in abstraction. Still Life with Blue Bottle, painted in 1911, offers an early example of Weber’s experimentation in Expressionism. In that important year, Weber solidified his relationship with photographer and dealer Alfred Stieglitz through a solo exhibition at the esteemed 291 Gallery.
