Andrew Schoelkopf, Owner
Andrew Schoelkopf is the owner of Schoelkopf Gallery. He founded the firm (then Menconi + Schoelkopf) in 2001 and has since led the business to become a leader in the field of American art and a trusted advisor to the nation’s preeminent museums and private collectors.
Andrew previously spent ten years at Christie’s in varying roles including senior vice president and director of the American paintings department, director of business development for North and South America, and president of Christie’s Internet Auctions. During his time there he also served on Christie’s business development, management, and operating committees.
Andrew grew up immersed in American art at his father’s namesake Madison Avenue gallery, which he joined as Director in the late 1980s. He has held multiple leadership positions within the Art Dealers Association of America, the nation’s leading industry association, including that of President from 2018-2021. He is a past member of the board of directors of the Private Art Dealers Association of America and the ADAA Foundation and is currently a member of the board of directors of the Chordoma Foundation. Andrew is Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) compliant and can complete USPAP-compliant appraisals.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Denison University and an M.B.A. from Fordham University Graduate School of Business. Andrew and his wife, Grace, have two grown children and live in Greenwich, Connecticut.
